01The science

Spaced repetition is the most proven way to learn. We're the only app that runs it on speaking.

A century of memory research keeps landing on the same answer: you don't forget at random, you forget on a curve, and the way to beat it is to review each thing right before it slips. That is the whole idea behind spaced repetition, and it works. The catch is that every other app aims it at recognition, matching a word to its meaning on a card. We aim the same math at production, the words you're about to forget how to say.

What the research says

The forgetting curve

Without review, you lose most of what you just learned within days, and the loss is predictable enough to plot.

Ebbinghaus, 1885

The spacing effect

Spreading reviews out over time beats cramming them together. It is one of the most replicated findings in all of learning science.

Cepeda et al., 2006

Retrieval practice

Pulling an answer out of your own head beats reading it again. Saying it out loud, under a little pressure, is the strongest form of all.

Roediger & Karpicke, 2006

Here is the part no other app does. Your vocabulary reviews are timed by an algorithm that tracks how well you know each word and works out exactly when you're about to forget it. That same timing is what decides which words the voice tutor and the Focus drills then make you say out loud. So the thing you practice speaking is always the thing you were about to lose.

02The voice tutor

A tutor that listens more than it talks

Reading apps got you this far. Then a real person asks a real question and nothing comes out. This is the part that gets the words out of your mouth. Here are a few of the moves it pulls.

Recasting, not correcting

It fixes you without stopping you

Make a mistake and the tutor just says it back the right way inside its reply. No red ink, no quiz. You barely notice, and you keep talking.

03Story mode

Learn inside a story, not a syllabus

A serialized show you actually want to finish, written at your level so you follow it from episode one.

  • Watch the scene. Follow a serialized story built for your language: a new city, a chaotic roommate, a crush who texts back in seconds, then disappears for five days. Every line voiced, every line glossed.
  • Prove you followed. A quick quiz after each scene checks you understood it, not just heard it.
  • Then step into it. Roleplay the episode yourself. Same characters, same setting, your words this time.

04Focus drills

Your mistakes become your next lesson

The tutor lets small mistakes go so you keep talking. Then it saves every one for the drills.

  • Nothing slips through. Every spoken mistake is caught and sorted after the session, even the ones the tutor let slide in the moment.
  • Your own sentence comes back. The exact line you got wrong returns as a fill-in-the-blank. You re-say your words, fixed, not a textbook's.
  • New words, captured. Reach for an English word mid-sentence and it lands in My words, ready to learn. You never type it in yourself.
  • Worst first. Recurring mistakes get ranked by how shaky they are right now, drilled hardest-first, and dropped the moment you've got them.

¿Cómo te fue el día?
You
Tuve una problema con… eh, el autobús.
Tutor
Ah, tuviste un problema con el autobús. ¿Qué pasó?

The tutor recasts the fix into the next sentence to keep you talking. Your slip slides by in the moment, but it isn't lost.
